When it comes to being creative, having alignment in mind and body really helps get all those artistic juices flowing. Finding that balance, and the time to squeeze it all in, doesn’t really jive with the whole creativity thing. Luckily, I was introduced to perfect tool for finding that balance. No, it’s not the force (As much as I wish it were). I’m talking about Kettlebells! They’re the one-stop body burner when it comes to getting gains and putting in the work without wasting any time. Here are my favorite movements if you’re looking to sweat it out, clear your head, and get the perfect pump with a boost of energy to unlock your potential while never missing a deadline.

Knight of Kettlebells

-Swing -

The staple of any kettlebell workout. This is the basis of which all sorts of programs will fall back on. Activating your glutes, legs and core, this exercise is the one to build up the stamina and strength it takes to swing the bell in all other positions.

- Squat Thruster -

You’ll hate how much you’ll love this one. The kettlebell squat is a great exercise on it’s own, no doubt about it. But the ‘thruster’ takes your thunder thighs to a whole other level. Utilizing the deep squat motion, the explosive power it takes to push all the way and hold that hunk of metal over your head activates not just the legs, but the core; and adds in some upper body work too.

- Bicep Curl -

For as versatile as the Kettlebell might be, there is only one exercise to really pump up your arms and, with enough reps, will burn you up in all the best ways. For some extra fun, try changing up the movements by slowing the downward motion, doing small pulses, or just straight up holding the weight to activate all the arm muscles.

- Tricep Extension -

But biceps can only get you so far. The other side of the coin lies in the Tricep Extension. This will build up the backside of the arm, but beware; this exercise can really sneak up on you and will put your strength to the test when you least expect it.

- Chest Press -

Finally, to put some solid gains on the chest all it takes is laying down and just lifting up. Pretend it’s a baby, or a pot of pasta sauce, just something you don’t want landing on your head. Sure, you don’t want a kettle bell landing on your head, but isn’t the image of a baby more motivating?

- Pullover -

Another chest exercise but this time we’re engaging the whole body. That’s right from your back, to your core, to your arms, this will have your body firing on all cylinders. And the longer you stretch your arms back, the harder (AND MORE FUN!) the exercise will become. But again….don’t drop the baby.

- Halo -

And lastly, the halo. Engage that core because that’s what’s going to be holding this thing up. Just swing the Kettlebell one way or the other around your head. That’s it. This is going to light up your abs, and build a foundation to help with every other movement. A couple of revolutions and you’ll start saying ‘Mercí” after every workout.
